Lily Le, your UCP candidate for Edmonton-City Centre
My family and I came to Canada as Vietnamese immigrants when I was six years old. Since then, I have had the pleasure of calling Edmonton my home where I was able to raise my family, obtain a Bachelor of Management with a major in Human Resource and Labour Relations, and work in the private sector as a finance broker for 14 years.
Initially, like many immigrants, my family and I struggled to adapt to the Canadian culture. We had to work extremely hard to adjust and integrate to the Canadian life. It was this struggle and humble beginning that fueled my passion for humanitarian causes.
For the past six years, my goal has been to help fellow Albertans through my volunteer work as President of Edmonton Viets Association, Director for VOICE Canada (Vietnamese Overseas Initiative for Conscience Empowerment, Co-Chair of the Edmonton Heritage Festival (2014-2018) and current member of the Edmonton Police Service Chief Advisory Council. I have lobbied for human right cases, worked in resettlement of immigrants, fundraised for many relief efforts for international causes and local major disaster such as the Fort MacMurray fire.
